I’m thinking about what God is up to. Here in our church we are about to embark on a new journey, launching another campus and becoming a multi-site church. This kind of thing does require a lot of planning and prayer and commitment from those who are going and those who are staying. On the front end, the new location will be both smaller and newer. But it will also have the potential of a seed that becomes a great harvest.
As I was reading today in the book of Zechariah, I was reminded of the prophets message about how God says not to despise small thing…small beginnings. He was talking about the foundation of the temple and how it may seem little and insignificant, but that God Himself was going to end up rejoicing over it. In God’s economy, the things that are big become small and the things that are small become big. By God’s grace, mountains become level ground and foundations become completed structures.
On October 10th, 2010, Grace Capital Church moves into the Lakes Region of New Hampshire. Our first monthly service will take place at the Laconia Middle School. We are praying that as about 175 of us gather together we will see several new people visit and make connections with us. In a region where so few go to church…such a small number of people even consider themselves followers of Christ…we will rejoice in the start!
Join us as we join God. Don’t despise small things…but rejoice in the start. For like the hardworking farmer who starts with seeds…the harvest comes and you get to enjoy it.
If you are struggling today with a small thing in front of you, or something you thought would be bigger or more complete by now- don’t give up. Remember, it’s God’s grace that works to make things grow. All we have to do is be in a position to rejoice all along the way!

Hi Peter,
I read this as I register here at wordpress.
Time for me to start a “small thing” -blogging.
“something you thought would be bigger or more complete by now- don’t give up. Remember, it’s God’s grace that works to make things grow. All we have to do is be in a position to rejoice all along the way!”
The “something” you speak of(for me) is my business…Well at least the SPEED that it bears fruit.
Thanks for the encouragement. The reminder that its Gods GRACE that makes things grow. THANKS
